Women of Achievement intends to recognise success in the workplace and in doing so identify female role models and encourage mentors. We hope to be able to inspire ‘Women of the Future’ across families, the business community, and also in schools and colleges.
The campaign will launch with a special lunchtime event at The Grand Hotel, Torquay, on 23 February, when details of the Women of Achievement competition will be announced. A range of one-off events and conferences will also take place under the umbrella of Women of Achievement, culminating in a prestigious awards reception in June 2012.
Helen Harman, Programme Director for Outset Torbay says, “We know that women are highly underrepresented in business, and we want this to change. The Women of Achievement campaign is an exciting initiative to recognise the achievements of women in business and the community, and importantly raise aspiration amongst young women.”
Sandy Eaton, Enterprising Women Director says, “Enterprising Women is pleased to partner with Outset Torbay to support The Women of Achievement campaign. Women’s enterprise has a lot to offer the business community of Torbay and beyond. Enterprising Women is a national business support community for women in business. Sponsoring this initiative will help raise awareness of female business-owners and most of all it presents a fantastic opportunity to celebrate their success.”
The Women of Achievement launch event is open to both men and women.
