Enterprise Nation has re-launched its Fund 101, which enables small businesses to apply for £50-£500 of funding, and has awarded £1000 of its fund to two Torbay-based start-ups.
The entrepreneurs applied for the fund to help boost their new businesses, which they started with help from local business support programme, Outset Torbay.
Amanda Fisher of Kingfisher Wedding Stationary and Carla Harris of Elysium Designs gained over 500 votes each to bid for the fund, successfully receiving £500 each to invest in to their new businesses.
Amanda said, “It is great that two Outset Torbay clients received £1000 of the £5000 total available in April. We couldnt have done it without Outset clients help and votes. It was well worth doing.”
If you have an idea for a business and need a bit of cash to get started or you’re running a small business and need up to £500 to buy equipment, promotion flyers, hardware etc, you can apply.
Up to £500 is available and the money doesn’t have to paid back. You just need to agree to be profiled on the Enterprise Nation site, so that they can see how you’re getting on.
Apply via the Fund 101 website and outline how much money you need and for what purpose. Make a good case for your idea and then encourage as many people as possible to vote for you. The number of votes required is equal to the amount of funding you’re looking for so to obtain £500 you’ll need to secure 500 virtual votes.
If you could do with an injection of cash to get your business going or growing that visit then get your application in. You can also read the Fund101 FAQs to find out more about the process.
